Asked about Writing a one-page research pitch
Pitch me a research project in two minutes.
An answer that works
State the question in one sentence, why it matters and to whom, why it is tractable now, the first cheap experiment and what result would make you stop, and what you would do if it works. Stop there and invite the hard question.
Then they push further
What is the strongest reason it will not work?
Answer honestly and specifically. Candidates who have already thought about this, and designed the first experiment around it, score far higher than ones who defend the idea.
What gets marked up
Marked up for a falsifiable first experiment and a pre-stated kill result. Enthusiasm without a test is marked down.
Reading an answer is not being able to give one. The section that teaches this is Writing a one-page research pitch, 3 hours of Research taste.
