Asked about Vectors, matrices and what a multiply means
Why do matrix multiply shapes have to line up?
An answer that works
Each output entry is a row of the first dotted with a column of the second, and a dot product needs equal-length vectors. So the inner dimensions must match and the result takes the outer two.
Reading an answer is not being able to give one. The section that teaches this is Vectors, matrices and what a multiply means, 6 hours of Linear algebra.
